Our History
Since hearing his very first sound checked kick drum at a Rancid concert in 1998, Artifex's owner John Becker has been obsessed with the magic of sound production. John founded and ran Anomalous Audio from 2004 through 2023 before finally building his dream project studio and opening Studio Artifex, a fully soundproofed and treated project studio.

Rooted in southeast PA his whole life, John has performed music in groups such as FACED, Chord|Discord, and Blastoid. He also served a number of yeras as lead engineer for local favorites Flux Capacitor. Today, in addition to running Studio Artifex, John mixes live sound for variety of events and musicians with Sanco Sound & Light.
